Survival

"I knew Father's efforts to help led to stress between him and Mother..............I was grateful when Father found an excuse to come down to the basement and sneak me a piece of bread. He always promised me he would keep trying." Pg.51

After many challenges with his mother..... David has been very uncared lately. His parents argue too much. Making his mother feel more hate towards David. She won't even bother feeding him real food. But his father try's his best to sneak in food for him. How a loving, caring father he is. He fights for his son even though its a risky thing to do. I predict David's father will stand up to his wife and tell her how badly she treats his own son.  How she should stop beating him and treating him like he's trash. Someone who was not to blame for anything, should not be treated like this.

I Am Strong

"Standing alone in that damp, dark garage, I knew, for the first time, that i could survive...............That day I vowed to myself that I would never, ever again give that bitch the satisfaction of hearing me beg her to stop beating me." Pg.43

This quote shows how strong David has become. He felt powerful and smart. David knew he has hope in life to confront his mother. After the drastic incident his mother did. Trying to burn his arm off ,with hot flames coming from the stove. He knew in order to survive, David shows no fear towards her or anything else. David has changed into a little, helpless child to a brave young boy. I predict , the next time David's mom try's to pull a fast one. He would be coming up with a plan involving time and strength. He would be ready for the next challenge of his life.

A Child Called It

So far i like that its a realistic autobiography book based on a guy who suffered in his childhood. Another thing i like about this book is its horrible but very interesting .
One thing i would change about the book is the actions that Dave's mother been doing to his son.
Why did Dave thought he was going to jail?

I recommened Karen to read this book because its very realistic and she loves autobiogarphy books.
